Country Welcome for Vanuatu
Welcome!
Since 1990, at the invitation of the government of Vanuatu, over 850 Peace Corps Volunteers have served with community members, host country partners, and staff across the beautiful archipelago of Vanuatu.
Today the exemplary Peace Corps legacy continues. There are currently two locally prioritized projects: Family WASH and Nutrition; and secondly, Education (Leftmap Litrisi).
In partnership with community members, Volunteers in the Family WASH program focus on providing access to clean drinking water and improved sanitation. The Nutrition program focuses on nutrition education and health awareness.
Literacy focuses on literacy education, including teaching basic literacy, numeracy, and life skills.
In at least 16 islands in the Republic of Vanuatu, both projects build relationships, encourage knowledge exchange, and produce tangible results.
Come join us as we inspire the next generation of global leaders. There are three ways you may serve with the Peace Corps: Volunteer for two years, join as a Response Volunteer for 6 to 12 months, or participate in a part-time Virtual Service opportunity for 3 to 6 months.
No matter which path you choose, we look forward to your journey as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Vanuatu. You will gain valuable life experiences, make lasting friendships, and have the opportunity to make a difference.
We are looking forward to learning, working, and laughing with you.
In service,
Kristofer Stice
Country Director
