Description and qualifications

About the project

Kyrgyz State Technical University (KSTU), Naryn State University (NSU), and Talas State University (TSU) in Kyrgyzstan have requested the support of Peace Corps Response Volunteers (PCRVs) to serve as E-Learning/Digital Learning Specialists. The Ministry has launched key digitalization projects in the education sector. Even though technical conditions for digital interaction are being created everywhere in government agencies, the teachers and students have not yet fully developed the skills and knowledge in this area. The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Innovation has identified a need for support to train teachers on new digital education tools and how to use these tools safely and effectively.

The PCRVs will be actively involved in the educational and outreach activities of their assigned universities to develop the digital competencies of teachers and students, as well as to implement advanced technologies and international practices in the educational process. The PCRVs will also conducting training courses and workshops in English on topics such as applications of AI in education and management; digital literacy and internet safety; and tools for digital interaction and remote learning.

Required skills

Qualified candidates will have the following criteria:

• BA in Education technology or other relevant field
• 2 or more years of teaching experience.
• 2 or more years of relevant digital/e-learning experience, such as using ICT to support learning, online instruction or experience developing digital learning resources.

Language: There are no pre-requisite language requirements for this position.
