Peace Corps Volunteers "serve," not "help." "Help" denotes a paternalistic idea that we know what is best. Peace Corps Volunteers work with community partners to determine what should be done and how. Without their help Volunteers cannot accomplish anything.Elizabeth Haight, Volunteer in Sierra Leone, 2012-2014
