Signing up for a two-year service with the Peace Corps is a big commitment. Every Volunteer will experience this time in a manner unique to that of anyone else’s experience. Every country, city, and village will have its own set of cultural standards, nuances, and living situations. We know it’s not easy to envision the specifics of your Peace Corps service. As a lifelong volunteer and intern at various grass roots organizations, Alex has always been drawn to overcoming challenging situations to helping others. It was a minor in French and B.S. in Environmental Science that brought him to Senegal as an Agroforestry Volunteer (2014-2016). He has since extended his contract twice as the Multimedia and Communications Coordinator (2016-2018) for Peace Corps Senegal.
