Description and qualifications

About the project

Are you a passionate educator for the visually impaired? The Ministry of Education in St. Vincent and the Grenadines is looking for support with a new special education program designed to strengthen national capacity to support visually impaired students.

In St. Vincent and the Grenadines, visually impaired students face many barriers, including the limited availability of adapted learning materials, assistive technologies, and tactile resources, as well as a shortage of teachers trained in visual impairment education. To address these challenges, the Ministry of Education is introducing a special education program designed to strengthen national capacity to support visually impaired students.

As Visual Impairment Support Teacher Trainer, you will collaborate with the special education staff to provide targeted interventions, such as teacher training in Braille and inclusive instructional strategies. Together, you will ensure that students with visual impairments are not segregated but instead have the opportunity to participate fully in mainstream classrooms alongside their peers.
