2018 represented two important milestones for Peace Corps Morocco. We celebrated the 55th anniversary of Peace Corps Volunteers in Morocco and the swearing-in of the 100th cohort.
The first 56 Volunteers arrived in Morocco in February 1963 at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Since then over 5,000 have devoted two years of their lives serving communities across Morocco in a variety of program areas including agriculture, education, environmental protection, fisheries, health, rural water supply, and small business development. And for the last seven years, Peace Corps has worked with the Ministry of Youth and Sports promoting youth development in Morocco.
