Projects in Kosovo
The Volunteers work in the schools of Kosovo as English teachers for two years, primarily in rural areas and always with a local Kosovar Counterpart. In addition to co-teaching with their Counterparts, they become involved in local projects based on the needs of their communities. These projects take many forms depending on the skills and experience of individual Volunteers, but the projects are always based on the expressed needs of the schools and the communities.
Community Economic Development
The Community Development Volunteers are placed with governmental and non-governmental organizations throughout Kosovo where they work with a local Counterpart. Depending on the needs of the organization and the Volunteer’s skills and experience, the focus of the work is typically on building organizational capacity through training, consultation, and mentoring. Community Development Volunteers, like the Education Volunteers, also work on other community projects.
