FAQs
Matching is randomized to make matches as quickly as possible for everyone who submits a request. You will be paired with an RPCV committed to helping you start your Peace Corps journey.
Once matched, the RPCV will contact you directly. They may suggest a phone call, exchange text messages, request to connect via LinkedIn, or send an email. They will review your profile and give initial thoughts on where you might fit in the Peace Corps. For example, if you worked in a school, they may steer you toward a role in the Education sector. If you studied abroad in Argentina, they may suggest you put your Spanish to use by serving in Paraguay. Or if you’re just graduating high school and not sure what’s next, they may explain the basic requirements for most roles in the two-year Peace Corps program (many roles require four years of experience OR an associate’s degree and two years of experience OR a bachelor’s degree).
The RPCV can also share information about their Peace Corps experience and answer questions about what service was like for them.
Easy – join our daily live chat every weekday at 1pm ET OR fill in this form to connect with a recruiter. We’ll make sure your questions are answered.
You are welcome to do both! Matching with an RPCV is a great way to get the opinion of someone who has served in the Peace Corps while getting an expert review of your unique skills and experience. These RPCVs may also share what career opportunities they’ve had post-service. Recruiters are Peace Corps employees who are always available to answer any other questions you may have.
LinkedIn shares resume details unlike other social media platforms. Many people keep their public LinkedIn profiles up to date with their current education, experience, and skills. Further, it is an easy way to share more about yourself with someone who can provide advice. LinkedIn allows you to connect in a meaningful way, while keeping the conversation professional.
At this time, we’re not accepting resumes for review and instead focusing on LinkedIn profiles to better understand your work history, background, and network.
RPCV feedback is not considered as part of the Peace Corps’ application review process.
Your matched RPCV is expected to provide a timely response to your request. Both parties are expected to engage in professional and respectful communications.
All Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and a US citizen. Most two-year positions require one of the following: an associate’s degree in any field and at least two years of full-time post-high school work experience (from any combination of roles) OR a bachelor’s degree in any field OR a high school diploma/GED and four years of full-time post-high school work experience (from any combination of roles).
