About this program
Villanova University's Accelerated BSN Program for College Graduates is a 14-month second degree program that incorporates all the standard components of the nursing program in a concentrated time frame. This program -- which is approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing and fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education -- usually begins on the third Monday in May of each year and ends in August of the following year. While the program is intense, students are able to take advantage of some of the same opportunities that are available to other BSN students.

Internship
College of Nursing Coverdell Fellows work with local immigrant and refugee populations and develop health-related programs. Previous programs have been a needs assessment of pregnant refugee women and a health access program for Philadelphia's immigrants and refugees. Currently, students in the College of Nursing are working in an immigrant health access project that was initiated by former Coverdell Fellows. Coverdell fellows travel to Montana to work with indigenous populations in pediatrics and with adults.
Other opportunities
Coverdell Fellows have the opportunity to serve as College of Nursing Global Health Diplomats and share their international experiences with nursing students who will travel internationally for course work.

The College of Nursing graduates are employed by leading health care systems. Previous graduates have taken jobs at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Main Line Health System, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Georgetown University Hospital, and multiple academic medical centers across the country.
