The Duke Daytime MBA program offers concentrations in decision sciences, diversity, equity & inclusion, energy & environment, energy finance, entrepreneurship and innovation, finance, financial analysis/accounting, , financial technology, leadership and ethics, management, marketing, operations management, social entrepreneurship, strategy. There are also Certificates of Excellence offered in finance as well as in health sector management. Students may pursue joint degrees in public policy, law, environment and earth science, forestry, medicine, nursing, engineering, and computer science. The Duke Daytime MBA program is fully STEM-certified as well.

Application requirements

One current standardized test score (GMAT, GRE, or Executive Assessment) , essays, one letter of recommendation, unofficial academic transcripts, interview, and leadership experience (both personally and professionally). Application must be completed online. Interviews may be scheduled during the Open Interview Period, after that time interviews are by invitation after an initial review of the application. The Duke MBA admits applicants with a range of test scores; there is no minimum requirement. In making admissions decisions, the candidate's overall strengths and weaknesses is considered and compared against the larger applicant pool. Upon receiving admission to The Duke MBA, you may apply for one of a limited number of fellowships available through the Paul D. Coverdell Fellows Program.

Admissions process

In the application, check the box in the Merit Scholarship section to express interest in the Coverdell Fellowship. Applicants must upload a copy of their DOS during the application process. If you are a currently serving Volunteer and do not yet have a copy of your DOS, you may upload a Word document stating when you expect to receive it. The admission decision and scholarship are announced simultaneously.

Coverdell Fellows receive a scholarship of 25% tuition and fees, plus consideration for other merit-based scholarships and financial aid awards based upon the strength of their applications.

Internship

Fellows are expected to undertake an impactful, ongoing service project that addresses problems and needs of Durham's under-served communities. Fellows should expect to volunteer 10-15 hours per month during the academic year. They will submit brief progress reports at the end of each semester. This service project covers the Coverdell Fellows internship requirement only. Fellows must also complete the required MBA internship between the first and second year of the program.

The Duke MBA offers many opportunities for community engagement. CASE (The Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship) maintains relations with numerous local nonprofits and manages Fuqua on Board, an extracurricular service learning program that pairs students with local nonprofit boards of directors.

Other opportunities

Fellows will participate in a Peace Corps Coverdell Fellows in one introductory networking session at the beginning of the year. Additionally, there is a tight knit social network of RPCVs at Fuqua who hold community events throughout the year.
