Founded in 1915, our graduate programs include the Master of Social Work (MSW), Ph.D. in Social Welfare, a Master of Nonprofit Organizations (MNO), and dual degree programs with Social Work and Public Health, Law, Business, Bioethics, and Nonprofit Management.
The Master of Social Work (MSW) program is a two year; 60 credit program accredited by the Council for Social Work Education (CSWE). The MSW program also has an advanced standing 39 credit hour option for students with a BSW. The Master of Nonprofit Management (MNO) program is a one year; 39 credit hour program that gives you the leadership, management, and strategic planning skills necessary to advance today’s nonprofit organizations.
The program costs outlined below are for a two-year MSW student. The tuition costs will change for MNO and MSW advanced standing students. The Coverdell Fellowship is always 50% of the tuition costs.

Application requirements

Transcripts from an accredited college or university that demonstrates completion of a bachelor’s degree in any field of study.
A two-part essay that is a maximum of five (5) typed pages (double-spaced, 12 point font). Visit https://case.edu/socialwork/apply to view the essay prompt for each program.
A current resume highlighting your paid and volunteer experiences.
One recommendation letter preferably from a faculty member, direct supervisor, or volunteer coordinator.

Cost savings details
The Fellowship is a 50% scholarship off tuition and provided by the Mandel School's Scholarship Fund. A large portion of the Mandel School Scholarship Fund is supported by the Annual Fund.
Internship
Based on the track you choose, you will complete an internship (field experience) totaling 900 hours throughout the 2 year program. The MSW paths of study include: Community Practice for Social Change; Mental Health with Adults; Mental Health with Children and Adolescents; Children, Youth and Families; Substance Use Disorders and Recovery; Aging; School Social Work and Health. Certificates include: Trauma Informed Practice, Management and Leadership; Nonprofit Management; School Social Work; Gerontology; Data Science for Social Impact and Global Health.
