This is our mission and commitment to our students. Come earn your Masters or PhD in Environmental Studies at one of the oldest most progressive institutions in higher education, and be part of the mission. AUNE’s Master of Science in Environmental Studies is a 42-credit program that can be completed in five semesters. The 30-credit Master of Science in Management and Conservation can be completed in four semesters. The Environmental Studies PhD is a 69-credit program that can be completed in 4-5 years.

Cost savings details

Scholarship equal to 25% of tuition (only) for the first 2 years of the student’s program. Please be aware that the financial package specified reflects the Environmental Science master program with full time enrollment. Attending full time would be advisable for students seeking the highest financial reward. The cost of program for RMC = $31490 and for the ES PhD =$96690 (these rates are for 16-17 academic year).

Internship

Professional internships are a critical component of our master’s programs because they allow you to delve into real-world experiences. During the program two, 3 credit internships are required. The internships are spaced throughout the course of study to enable you to practice skill-sets learned during classes at sites throughout the country and world. To list a few examples: students have interned at community gardens to make fresh and nutritious food accessible to lower income families; they have interned with conservation groups and organizations to protect our natural resources for everyone; they have interned with governmental organizations to support environmental justice legislation; and they have interned with organizations that are active participants in climate change preparedness.

In the doctoral program, students complete a service practicum as part of their Fellowship. For this, students at an advanced level of training reaffirm how their academic experience fits into the non- academic world and strengthens community, placing their scholarship in a renewed context.
