Baker School of Education graduate degrees equip you with the confidence and skills to bring equity to education with a focus on antiracist pedagogy, hands-on learning experiences and practitioner-based learning. We offer a vast array of programs to empower creative, passionate, critical thinkers to be effective educators and leaders in our diverse and ever-changing world.
RPCVs will feel at home within the dynamic community of the Baker School of Education, comprising students, faculty, staff, and alumni who are committed to fostering rigorous collaboration; promoting equitable and inclusive learning environments; advancing social justice; preparing competent educators; providing leadership in public policy arenas; and engaging with local, national, and international communities and organizations.

Our students graduate prepared to enter education-oriented careers. Our graduates are sought after for their ability to translate what they have learned to real-world education needs.

Internship
Baker School of Education is committed to serving the District of Columbia and surrounding areas and has many connections with educational, international and community-based organizations in the DMV area. The skills Coverdell Fellows will bring to their internship experience will be invaluable for our community partnerships. A Baker School of Education coordinator will work to choose an internship | practicum aligned with their interests.
Other opportunities
Upon graduation, students in the Special Education and Teacher Education program are also eligible to apply for the TEACH grant program offered by the US Department of Education.
