Country Welcome for Eastern Caribbean
Welcome and thank you for visiting Peace Corps Eastern Caribbean webpage!
Serving in Peace Corps Eastern Caribbean offers something that no other post can offer in the world. This is the only Peace Corps post made up of four distinct countries—Dominica, Grenada, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Saint Lucia.
Each Eastern Caribbean country has a proud history and vibrant traditions that Peace Corps honors as part of its mission. Saint Lucia celebrates its Creole heritage through Jounen Kwéyòl and societies like La Rose and La Marguerite, which preserve folk music and rituals. Grenada, known as the Spice Island, maintains traditions like Saraca, a community food-sharing rooted in West African culture. Dominica, the most mountainous island, is home to lush rainforests, and the Kalinago Territory, preserves indigenous crafts and customs. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, with its 32 islands, celebrates Garifuna heritage, blending African and Carib roots. Across these islands, Volunteers experience cultural exchange through festivals, music, storytelling, and community gatherings that reflect the warmth and resilience of family-centered societies.
No matter where you end up serving, just know that your talents and experiences will be put to good use and you will take away with you, knowledge and memories that will last forever.
As a Volunteer, you’ll work alongside local partners to strengthen education and youth development in ways that honor community priorities. Opportunities include English literacy education through small groups, instruction in and outside the classroom, youth engagement, and collaborative projects designed with sustainability in mind. Whether you’re an experienced educator or passionate about working with youth, we have assignments that fit your skills—ranging from two-year English Literacy roles to shorter Peace Corps Response positions (12 months).
Your journey as a Peace Corps Volunteer will be filled with rewarding and challenging experiences, close friendships, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the youth and communities you serve. Take a look at the open positions and join us in this enriching professional opportunity, we can't wait for you to join us!
