Rice Mill
Description
The community has identified the lack of rice‑milling access as a major priority. Rice is a staple crop grown locally and an essential part of our daily diet, yet we rely on a congested and distant municipal mill. To address this, we agreed to form a mill committee made up of respected elders. Community members will contribute labor, transportation of materials, food for laborers, and financial resources to reach twenty‑five percent of the project budget.
The expected result is a local mill that will be ready in time for the harvest at the end of the year, providing a sustainable option that supports increased economic development. The mill will generate income by milling rice at a fair market price, and the committee will record all financial transactions. Income will go toward expenses, maintenance, and compensation for trained local operators. Any remaining profit will be allocated by the committee and respected elders to other community development projects.
Through this effort, community members will strengthen skills in machine operation, safety procedures, and basic maintenance. After careful discussion, we unanimously agree that this project will benefit all and address our lack of milling capabilities.
