Community Clinic Renovation
Description
The project aims to replace the worn‑out roof of the community clinic, repair leaks, and address interior structural damage and failing floors so the facility can once again provide safe, dependable, and high‑quality healthcare. Restoring the building will allow nearby residents to access timely and reliable services close to home. These needs were identified directly by community members, who emphasized the clinic’s deteriorating condition and the urgency of restoring essential functions.
Residents guided the project’s priorities through a participatory process that highlighted roofing repairs, structural restoration, and interior improvements. The effort also includes strengthening activities for local participants. Community members will receive practical training in basic facility upkeep, hygiene promotion, and environmental health practices. The Health Committee, composed of local leaders, youth representatives, and women’s group members, will strengthen skills in monitoring, record‑keeping, and resource mobilization to support effective management once renovations are complete.
Community involvement will remain central throughout planning, implementation, and ongoing maintenance. Residents will participate in decisions, support routine upkeep, and help ensure long‑term stewardship of the improved clinic. Sustainability will be reinforced through trained community members, an active Health Committee, and strengthened local ability to maintain the facility over time.
