Health Center Security Barrier
Description
The project will construct a 700‑foot, 6‑foot‑high perimeter fence around a local health facility using reinforced concrete pillars, wall segment construction, and structural reinforcement. Identified through participatory community analysis, it responds to priority concerns involving unauthorized entry, stray animals, environmental hazards, and the need to protect medical infrastructure. Strengthening the facility’s physical barrier will improve safety for patients and staff, safeguard equipment, and support a more secure environment for health service delivery in alignment with national health priorities.
Community members will contribute sand, stone, transport, tools, and volunteer labor, exceeding the required 25 percent of total project costs and demonstrating strong local ownership. Their involvement also promotes skills transfer in breeze block production, concrete mixing, and infrastructure development, helping strengthen local technical abilities.
The project reflects a collaborative effort between residents, local leadership, and grant support. Despite uncertainty in the global economy and rising prices, this effort aims to provide a lasting improvement in facility safety, infrastructure protection, and the delivery of essential health services.
