Senior School Computer Lab
Description
The grant will support the installation of a computer lab at a secondary school, addressing the school’s difficulty in meeting the resource needs of the new competency‑based curriculum, especially the information and communication technology course. Access to computers will help create a more interactive, learner‑centered environment for students in the upper grades, allowing them to engage more deeply with lessons and develop stronger practical skills.
Students at the school also face challenges in understanding the opportunities available to them after completing their studies. With access to computers, they will be able to explore higher education paths, scholarships, and future careers. Computers will additionally provide alternative ways of learning by giving students access to videos, websites, journal articles, and other resources that can strengthen conceptual understanding. This will support different learning styles and give students the freedom to explore new topics and nurture their creativity.
The project will be maintained by teachers and staff. A group of teachers with experience in information technology has been organized to oversee the functioning of the lab and respond to technical or operational issues. The school plans to offer information and communication technology sessions and camps for the surrounding community for a small fee. This will create a modest revenue stream to help cover ongoing maintenance and internet costs and strengthen the long‑term sustainability of the lab.
