Enhance a Youth Center

Description

This project aims to transform a youth center in Morocco into a fully functioning space that students feel empowered to use for academic learning, skill development, and personal growth. Its objectives include creating a designated study room for independent work and advanced English learning, providing outdoor equipment to encourage greater use of the adjacent field, and establishing a game room to support recreational and social engagement.

As the only community space outside of school accessible to young people in this community, the center has the potential to serve a broader purpose. The project seeks to shift perceptions so that the center is viewed not only as an academic setting but also as a place that students can utilize for a wide range of activities. A dedicated study room will especially benefit older students who need a quiet, reliable environment, while outdoor equipment will promote physical activity and revitalize the underused field.

Maintenance and oversight of the new resources will be managed by the director with support from a volunteer and any existing partner. By strengthening the opportunities available, this project aims to establish the center as a vital third space that supports the educational, social, and developmental needs of the young people it serves.
