Youth Center Activity Room

Project by Kate E., Volunteer from New York
Morocco Youth

Description

This project will create a safe space and opportunity for youth to engage with one another and develop valuable life skills. It responds to a community‑identified need to expand the range of extracurricular activities offered at the youth center. A five‑day camp will bring participants together in a new activity room to engage in art and games, with art projects led by student leaders who will help campers explore creativity and self‑expression.

Participants will also collaborate to complete a group mural for the center, strengthening their communication and teamwork. The camp will feature multiple tournaments designed to challenge youth to strengthen their critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities. Throughout each day, participants will practice the importance of sportsmanship while engaging positively with peers.

In addition to supporting youth growth, the project will equip staff and volunteers with the resources and skills needed to create new, engaging programs that will continue well beyond the camp. Ultimately, this effort strengthens and supports the ability of the community to aid in the success of its youth.
