Games and Technology Club

Project by Kylie D., Volunteer from Pennsylvania
Morocco Youth

Description

This project will address the gap in resources available to youth who visit the local youth center. With too few computers, games, and art supplies, many young people are currently turned away, and existing activities are limited. By expanding the Resource Room, the project will strengthen an essential space for youth in a conservative community where healthy recreational options are scarce. New computers and updated software will increase access to technology, while additional games will broaden options for clubs, associations, and camps.

The youth center is one of the only places providing board games, chess lessons, and e‑sports equipment free of charge. This access is especially important for girls, who make up the majority of participants. The project also aims to secure materials that help youth explore their curiosity and creativity beyond simple games. With basic art and school supplies, students will be able to research topics, create presentations, and carry out building, recycling, and artistic projects and experiments that are currently not possible.

These activities reflect what local youth have repeatedly expressed interest in. Strengthening this space will give them opportunities to develop practical and creative skills that can support them in their futures.
