Fruit Tree Cultivation
Description
This project introduces seven types of fruit trees to strengthen agricultural practices and improve livelihoods in a local community. By enhancing skills in areas such as composting, mulching, and water management, the initiative supports long-term cultivation efforts whose benefits grow over decades. The effort aims to create new income opportunities, reduce reliance on seasonal crops, and increase access to locally grown fruits.
As the fruit trees mature, community members will gain access to fresh produce that supports more varied diets, while also being able to sell surplus harvests for additional earnings. The project is expected to support soil conservation and improve overall vegetation, contributing to healthier surroundings and stronger household resilience.
The project also provides saplings to two local schools, offering students and teachers hands-on learning about the value of varied diets. By introducing lime, mandarin orange, orange, mango, lychee, macadamia nut, and avocado trees, the effort reflects shared community priorities and is designed to benefit all members for many years to come.
