English Language Lab
Description
The project supports a school offering education from kindergarten through 12th grade, along with four feeder schools that send students through 9th grade. About 420 students attend each year, yet instruction relies heavily on grammar drills, reading comprehension, and structured writing, with few opportunities to hear and practice authentic spoken English. Because English requires attention to tone, pronunciation, and natural sentence flow, students need regular chances to listen to and reproduce these patterns to develop fluency and confidence.
To address this gap, the project proposes a modern English Language Laboratory with 10 computer workstations. This space will allow individual students to listen to and practice spoken English using contemporary technological tools designed to strengthen speaking, listening, writing, and academic communicating skills. The laboratory’s core goal is to improve the quality of instruction and better prepare students for international examinations, higher education, and participation in the global job market.
The laboratory will serve all students beginning in first grade and will enhance the school’s role as a community learning hub. It will support extended learning through foreign language clubs and align with the national afterschool program initiative, offering a structured environment that encourages student development and community engagement.
