Description

A local primary school needs to renovate its deteriorated water systems, including handwashing stations, bathrooms, and classroom plumbing. For over a decade, the well and pump that once supplied water have been broken, causing sanitation conditions to decline. Community fundraising, volunteering, and available resources can address roughly one quarter of the work, but local leaders cannot obtain the remaining funds required for a new water pump, solar panels, and replacement piping.

This effort aims to support the community in completing the rest of the project, restoring water access throughout the school and enabling proper maintenance of essential facilities. It also includes workshops for students and teachers on the importance of sanitation and hygiene, along with revitalizing long-neglected flowerbeds.

One key objective responds to concerns raised by girls who have noted that restroom cleaning and upkeep were halted only because water was unavailable. Their hope is for students to value hygiene, leading to positive benefits for every child’s education.
