LCD Projectors in Cambodia

Description

This project seeks to strengthen teaching quality by expanding access to LCD projectors for upper‑secondary classrooms serving grades ten through twelve. School leaders and teachers identified limited classroom technology as a major barrier to effective instruction, particularly in subjects with abstract or advanced content. A needs assessment confirmed that these classrooms—used by 771 students and 36 teachers—are the highest‑priority locations for projector‑based learning. Teachers currently rely on whiteboards and hand‑drawn visuals, which consume significant time and limit the ability to present complex concepts clearly.

The project will purchase and install eleven LCD projectors in the classrooms identified as most urgent, improving access to visual and interactive learning tools. In addition to equipment, the project will provide training for teachers on projector use, instructional integration, maintenance, and management. Teachers will collaborate to create digital learning resources that can be reused and adapted across subjects. School staff will oversee implementation, manage equipment, and participate in all training activities, while students and teachers will offer feedback on how projector‑based instruction affects engagement and learning.

Funding is needed because the school lacks the resources to procure the projectors required for its highest‑priority classrooms. The school will contribute secure storage, projection surfaces, electricity, internet access, and staff time to support implementation. By strengthening teachers’ ability to integrate technology and expanding access to engaging learning experiences, the project will support lasting improvements in instructional quality and student outcomes.
