Youth Festival

Project by Christopher M., Volunteer from Arizona
North Macedonia Youth

Description

Over the past two decades, the country has experienced a significant population decline driven by emigration, and many young people express a desire to leave permanently. They often perceive greater opportunities abroad and feel unable to influence progress within their communities. In response, a youth‑led festival will be organized in a central public space on International Youth Day to offer an open and inviting environment where young people can celebrate, connect, learn, and participate in community life.

The event blends culture, youth creativity, informal learning, public engagement, and entertainment in one program. It will feature musical performances that highlight and support local young talent, along with an educational and career‑focused segment offering direct access to information on studies and future professional pathways. A financial literacy activity will be included through banks presenting youth‑oriented packages and short sessions tailored to young audiences.

A dedicated interaction zone will host promotional and educational stands, small businesses led by young people, games, and opportunities for informal engagement. The festival will open with brief remarks from local youth representatives and municipal leadership, affirming the value of youth participation in community development and efforts to strengthen youth engagement.
