Computer Lab & Camp
Description
This project will strengthen digital learning opportunities for students in a rural school by establishing a structured Glow Camp program supported by an upgraded computer lab. The school currently has only a few functioning computers, limiting student access to technology and hindering the use of digital tools in everyday instruction. To address this, the project will provide ten desktop computers and launch a fall Glow Camp focused on coding, digital creativity, and confidence-building.
Students will learn foundational coding concepts such as sequencing, loops, and conditionals while using digital tools for coding, data organization, and creative expression. Working in groups, they will design and present final digital projects that reinforce collaboration and problem‑solving. The program will also incorporate English language development through digital storytelling and presentations, giving students additional opportunities to practice speaking and writing skills using modern tools.
The improved computer lab will support year‑round instruction, particularly in English club and technology classes, where students will use digital tools for writing, presentations, and creative projects. Teachers will receive ongoing support from the Peace Corps Volunteer and the technology teacher through co‑planning, in‑class demonstrations, and step‑by‑step guidance on integrating digital tools into lessons. Guided by strong community support, this project combines upgraded infrastructure with structured programming aimed at strengthening digital skills, confidence, and collaboration among students while promoting long‑term sustainability within the school.
