Statement from Peace Corps Director Jody Olsen
WASHINGTON – Peace Corps Director Jody Olsen released the following statement today, June 1:
“During this time of crisis, let us all as members of the Peace Corps community demonstrate how we can be a source of strength for all who are hurting. Even as we ourselves are hurting, let us reflect on and reaffirm our commitment to the respect and dignity of each person—which is central to our mission.
“The Peace Corps will continue working with our many partners, in the US and around the world, to build safe spaces and a culture of understanding. And we will never cease in our efforts to make our communities more inclusive and embracing of the extraordinary diversity of the country we represent. Our mission is more vital than ever. Stay safe, and be there for those around you. We are all in this together.”
