Peace Corps Response

Community Economic Development Specialist

Project description

The Super Buddies Club (SBC) in Eswatini has requested the support of a Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) to serve as a Community Economic Development Specialist. Super Buddies Club uses innovative approaches in addressing adolescent and youth issues that make them vulnerable to HIV, violence and exploitation. Since 2008, the organization has been providing life skills training through peer education, and agro-business training to adolescents and youth (including youth living with HIV) as well as parents and guardians.

The PCRV will work closely with the Trainers in the youth development program (Ngihlomise Youth Skills Academy) to strengthen their capacity to deliver on program objectives by reviewing the entrepreneurship curriculum and training tools to ensure successful trainings of program participants. The PCRV will also co-train Academy trainers on how to develop business plan presentations for future coaching and mentoring of program participants.

Candidates selected for this position will be arriving in Eswatini together as a group, so while the departure dates for the whole group could change, dates cannot be changed for individual candidates.
