Project Description

In 2008, a new statute was passed requiring the Ministry to provide digital resources to students and teachers. The PCRV will be working with a team of 6-8 people, including the Response Volunteer assigned to the Digital Illustrator position. All have their own responsibilities, working on different stages of product development but collaboration is encouraged and beneficial to the final product as well as the development of the team and their technical capacity. Once the resources have been designed, they will be sent to National and Regional MEP advisors who train teachers on their use and implementation with students.

A PCRV with senior level in JavaScript, intermediate level in CSS3 and experience with Ajax methods, HTML5, Node-JS, and React-JS will work with GESPRO to develop digital educational resources for pre-school and primary school students. The team will be working on designing a preschool web application that allows students to create stories with different elements such as images, videos, audios, texts, among others and creating primary-school level game board with dice in digital format that allows a learner to go through different scenarios to solve different challenges related to strengthening values. The Volunteer will provide mini trainings/guidance to team members in order to build their capacity and strengthen their technical computer programming skills. The goal of this assignment is build the capacity of GESPRO’s technology developers to create educational media resources that meet the requirements imposed by new and modern trends while providing students with the opportunity to interact within digital environments in a very dynamic and realistic way.
