Project Description

8 District DREAMS Facilitators, with strong program coordination and communication skills and previous experience in Peace Corps Botswana, are needed to work closely with the National AIDS and Health Promotion Agency (NAHPA) at the district level in Botswana to work with DREAMS implementing partners to assist with district coordination, monitoring, and evaluation. The Peace Corps Response Volunteers (PCRVs) will also prepare the ground for the arrival of two-year volunteers and provide support once those volunteers are at site. The PCRVs will assist in rolling out the program to the district, sensitizing and training stakeholders, establishing systems and coordinating, collaborating and communicating with implementing partners across the district.

The PCRVs will collaborate with their counterparts to convene regular DREAMS coordination meetings in the district to include implementing partners, government counterparts, and other stakeholders, support the sensitization, communication and training of implementing partners in communities across the district, and support the development of detailed district mapping of partners and their activities for improved coordination and efficiency. The PCRVs will also identify and address implementation challenges occurring on the ground and work with partners to resolve issues. The goal of this assignment is to support the implementation of evidence-based combination prevention interventions that target vulnerable adolescent girls and young women (AGYW), their families, communities and sex partners with the ultimate goal of protecting the AGYW from HIV infection.

Please note that departure dates and other details of this project could change because of the uncertainties as Peace Corps and local partners resume volunteer operations. Candidates selected for this position will be arriving in Botswana together as a group, so while the departure dates for the whole group could change, dates cannot be changed for individual candidates.
