Youth Groups Mobilization Advisor

Project Description

The Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova has requested the support of a Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) to serve as a Youth Groups Mobilization Advisor. The Ministry of Education and Research is working on the creation of a support program for local initiative groups of young people (especially from rural areas) to boost community mobilization in solving local challenges (training, capacity building, empowerment, financing, etc.). The tasks that the Ministry has identified as needing support include desk review, meetings with interested parties, organization of public consultations, and coordination of a broad working group responsible for elaboration.

The PCRV will work with a mentor within the department and collaborate closely with the head of the department and a majority of the staff to conduct a needs assessment methodology to identify current challenges and potential for growth for rural youth initiative groups and develop an action plan to conduct the needs assessment and identify potential solutions for the rural youth initiative groups. The PCRV will also support the Ministry to draft program to support youth initiative groups from rural areas.

Candidates selected for this position will be arriving in Moldova together as a group. While the whole group's departure dates could change, dates cannot be changed for individual candidates.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’ degree in social science or any other field related to youth
• Experience with developing, monitoring, and evaluating policies and procedures related to youth at the national or international level
• Experience with development and implementation of the youth programs
• Strong Organizational and Communication Skills
