Organizational Capacity Strengthening Specialist

Project Description

Glasswing International (Fundación Crisálida Internacional) in Guatemala has requested the support of a Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) to serve as an Organizational Capacity Strengthening Specialist. Glasswing International is implementing a five-year project in Guatemala to develop a national youth service initiative, which promotes youth-centered engagement as part of an overall national strategy to improve opportunities for disadvantaged youth. Among their strategies is to work with several local NGO partners to increase their capacity to implement youth-service initiatives and to support the development of the national service corps.

The PCRV will assist with the assessment and strengthening of the local NGOs’ capacity to ensure that the opportunities being provided to youth through the project are reaching the intended audience and achieving the desired impact. The PCRV would co-lead the development and facilitation of capacity assessment tools, to strengthen the staff’s program management, technical, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and finance skills to achieve the project’s objectives. The overall goal of the assignment is to further develop Glasswing's capacity to provide guidance and support to their local NGO partners and to support these partners in their organizational capacity development.

Candidates selected for this position will be arriving in Guatemala together as a group, so while the departure dates for the whole group could change, dates cannot be changed for individual candidates.
