Project Description
SANU started as the Nazarene Nursing College in 1927 and was renamed in 2010. Approximately 7000 students have graduated from the institution since its inception.
The PCRV will work alongside local faculty to co-teach and mentor nursing students in non-clinical settings, lecture general nursing science to undergraduate and possibly post-graduate students, and develop and review undergraduate and post-graduate curriculum. The PCRV will also advise management on necessary curriculum modifications and participate in student counselling and mentoring for academic and career success. PCRVs are expected to report on activities through Peace Corps reporting tools twice during their service.
Peace Corps Response established its "Advancing Health Professionals" program in 2019. Response Volunteers serving with the AHP program seek to improve health outcomes on a societal level by providing high-level, specialized service in the health sector. AHP projects include nursing education, health systems strengthening, service delivery improvement, and other non-clinical interventions that enhance the quality of healthcare.
Please note that departure dates and other details of this project could change because of uncertainties relating to Peace Corps and local partners resuming volunteer operations. Invitees will be arriving in Eswatini together as a group. While the whole group's departure dates could change, dates cannot be changed for individual candidates.
