A Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) is needed to serve as a National Capacity Building Specialist for Peace Corps BRO Eswatini (Broadening Minds, Redefining Manhood, Obtaining Success) in the Kingdom of Eswatini. Peace Corps BRO Eswatini has grown to have 48 clubs across Eswatini in the four years since the inception of Peace Corps BRO Eswatini by a Peace Corps Volunteer (PCV) and his counterpart. Many of these clubs were started by PCVs, however they now no longer have a PCV or in some cases were started by Swatis who became familiar with Peace Corps BRO Eswatini. With the growth in the project and number of participants, BRO Eswatini is endeavoring to ensure that all club counselors have the necessary skill sets to plan for, facilitate, motivate, and record data at their club gatherings. Over the course of this project work, the focus is to train and mentor more counselors to a high point of confidence and capability in these skill sets and then have them replicate these trainings with other club counselors. With trained and capable volunteer club counselors, the BRO Program would be able to continue expanding and growing while maintaining sustainability and quality. The BRO program experiences inconsistence in establishing, running and monitoring the clubs as well as transferring knowledge and skills to other counselors.
The National Capacity Building Specialist, with at least an undergraduate degree in a relevant field and 3 years’ experience in designing and implementing adult training programs, are needed build the capacity of BRO Club counselors to sustainably implement their programs. The PCRV will conduct a training needs assessment, design and facilitate trainings for counselors, and design and implement a mentorship program to support the counselors. The Volunteer will also develop a comprehensive training package to be used for developing future counselors, implement a training of trainers program, write and monitor grants to support counselor training, and create standard operating procedures for the running of clubs and counselor conduct. The goal of this assignment is to build local capacity to design and sustain the program and operations of BRO Eswatini.
Please note that departure dates and other details of this project could change because of the uncertainties as Peace Corps and local partners resume volunteer operations. Candidates selected for this position will be arriving in eSwatini together as a group, so while the departure dates for the whole group could change, dates cannot be changed for individual candidates.

• High tolerance for ambiguity and high level of flexibility – some details of this project could change because of the uncertainties as Peace Corps and local partners resume volunteer operations
• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in designing and implementing training programs for adults
• 3 years’ experience in writing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating grants
• Bachelor’s degree in adult and community development or any related field
