A Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) with a degree in International Development, Project Management, Statistics or related field and over 3 years work experience in monitoring and evaluation and proposal development is needed to serve as Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist (HIV and AIDS) at the Malawi Network of AIDS Service Organisations (MANASO). Since 2015, MANASO has been rebranding and reorganizing itself to update its image and profile to align with new national strategies, to remain relevant to HIV/ AIDS response, and to attract new supporters and resources. It is critical that MANASO increases and improves documentation and reporting of its own as well as members’ program performance, achievements, and case studies.
The Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist (HIV and AIDS) will be looking at all projects in MANASO including the ones that are in the pipeline (awaiting contract signing). M&E is an area where capacity building is required in MANASO to effectively capture, analyze and report on various interventions and programs. The PCRV will support the development of tools and templates for the routine collection and reporting of monitoring data and develop an effective and efficient approach for conducting M&E training for the M&E team and stakeholders that will ensure ownership of the process and quality implementation of the M&E framework. They will support the Programmes Team in organizational knowledge management systems.
Please note that departure dates and other details of this project could change because of the uncertainties as Peace Corps and local partners resume volunteer operations. Candidates selected for this position will be arriving in Malawi together as a group, so while the departure dates for the whole group could change, dates cannot be changed for individual candidates.
Malawi Network of AIDS Service Organisations (MANASO)
• High tolerance for ambiguity and high level of flexibility – some details of this project could change because of the uncertainties as Peace Corps and local partners resume volunteer operations
• Bachelor’s degree in any subject, but preferably in International Development, Project Management, Statistics or related fields
• At least two years’ work experience in monitoring and evaluation and proposal development
• Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation systems
• Knowledge and experience of computer software including Microsoft suite, data collection, review and analysis tools
• Cross-cultural adaptation skills
