The Peace Corps Response Volunteers, with significant experience in teacher training, modern teaching methodologies, and project management, are needed to design and deliver trainings on modern methodologies for teachers’ professional development. The PCRVs will also work collaboratively with Georgian teachers to improve the student’s speaking and writing skills. Schools are very active in developing and searching for grant opportunities with various organizations including Peace Corps. Teachers are interested in building their proposal writing and project management skills in order to support their schools with innovative projects that provide resources, services, and infrastructure for their schools and help improve teaching and learning environments for students. The goal of this assignment is to improve the overall capacity of the English language department in public schools.
Please note that departure dates and other details of this project could change because of the uncertainties as Peace Corps and local partners resume volunteer operations. Candidates selected for this position will be arriving in Georgia together as a group, so while the departure dates for the whole group could change, dates cannot be changed for individual candidates.
• Degree in Education, Pedagogy, TESOL, or related
• At least three years of experience teaching English in a school setting
• Strong knowledge of modern teaching methodologies such as: project based teaching, learning stations, flipped classroom, and others
• Experience with teacher professional development and teacher trainings
• Experience in grant writing
• Strong communication skills
• Strong computer and digital skills
• Strong leadership skills
• Highly motivated and flexible
• High levels of energy
