A Digital Media Specialist with basic working proficiency in French, strong website building and social media skills, and a degree in media, communications, computer science, or a writing-intensive field is needed to work with Dare To Innovate (Osez Innover) in Guinea. The core of Dare to Innovate’s mission is building a movement of young entrepreneurs, who through training, collaboration, business development, and social innovation will take charge in the economic advancement of their country. While Guinea lags in physical infrastructure, digital links connect their networks of entrepreneurs and business partners. This assignment will strengthen DTI’s digital outlets and use them to bolster community building and program outreach. DTI is looking for a volunteer with a passion for digital media and an enthusiasm for start-up culture. Applicants should be invigorated by working with entrepreneurs and website design, and those with non-profit, marketing, and/or communications experience are especially encouraged to apply.

The PCRV will work closely with Dare to Innovate’s media staff as well as staff members across the organization to understand and express the many aspects of DTI’s operations, and they will also engage directly with entrepreneurs to help promote digital business activity and to teach best practices. The PCRV will also build and expand DTI’s website for accessible use by entrepreneurs, partners, and other interested parties; craft and document entrepreneur stories and DTI project narratives to be suitable for online presentation, and supplemental training to staff members on website and digital media best practices. The overall goal of the assignment is to help build DTI’s digital presence and support the youth entrepreneurial ecosystem DTI represents.

Please note that departure dates and other details of this project could change because of the uncertainties as Peace Corps and local partners resume volunteer operations. Candidates selected for this position will be arriving in Guinea together as a group, so while the departure dates for the whole group could change, dates cannot be changed for individual candidates.
