Digital Literacy and English Language Facilitator
Project Description
The Academy Foundation Forum (FORUM) in Panama has requested the support of a Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) to serve as a Digital Literacy and English Language Facilitator. FORUM seeks to address the challenges of the widening digital gap and lack of access to quality English language instruction in rural areas by by providing innovative English language instruction combined with technology resources. FORUM has identified a need to additional support to expand their efforts to support youth and adults in Cocle, Panama to improve and increase their knowledge, skills, and abilities in digital technologies, as well as English language.
The PCRV will work together with FORUM staff to co-create a guide with digital (and non-digital) activities and projects for fun and dynamic English language learning and co-create a standardized system to evaluate and monitoring English language learning workshops. The PCRV will also co-facilitate training of trainer (ToT) workshops for mentors / volunteers and teachers, to provide them with the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) that allow them to promote digital literacy and English language learning. The goal of this assignment is to strengthen FORUM's capacity to provide dynamic and fun instruction to project beneficiaries and allow them access to resources and learning that will support them in their future well-being.
Please note that departure dates and other details of this project could change because of the uncertainties as Peace Corps and local partners resume volunteer operations. Candidates selected for this position will be arriving in Panama together as a group, so while the departure dates for the whole group could change, dates cannot be changed for individual candidates.

Required Skills
• High tolerance for ambiguity and high level of flexibility – some details of this project could change because of the uncertainties as Peace Corps and local partners resume volunteer operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or other related bachelor’s degree and relevant teaching experience
• Intermediate-mid Spanish language level.
• Experience in English language instruction.
• Experience evaluating and monitoring activities.
• Experience planning and facilitating learning for adults and youth.
• Intercultural skills and motivation, including cross-cultural agility, ability to work independently, resourcefulness, and creativity.
