Project Description
A Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) is needed to work with the university staff and other primary stakeholders to assist with conducting workshops and trainings about biosensors for diagnostics. The PCRV will provide meetings and consultations with the faculty and researchers, participate in the institution of a graduate-level course on biosensors, and initiate connections and linkages between UPLB and US Institutions that work with biosensors. The long term plan of the university is to become a globally competitive graduate and research university contributing to national development.
Please note that departure dates and other details of this project could change because of the uncertainties as Peace Corps and local partners resume volunteer operations. Candidates selected for this position will be arriving in the Philippines together as a group, so while the departure dates for the whole group could change, dates cannot be changed for individual candidates.

Required Skills
● Master’s degree in bio-systems engineering or biology or medical and allied health sciences or veterinary medicine
● At least two (2) years of recent research and work experience involving biosensors for diagnostics
● At least three (3) years of experience working in an academic institution, research institution, or industry
● Demonstrated ability to live and work in a multi-cultural setting
● Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated flexibility
