If you received a request to interview for a Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) position, congratulations! 1) Read the position information form

You can find this form in the email requesting you to schedule an interview, and in the email that confirms your interview timeslot. The form contains important information about the PCRV position, including the duties and deliverables expected by the requesting partner. Be prepared to discuss how your prior training and experience will enable you to successfully perform these duties and achieve these deliverables. The position information form also covers the housing, working, and living conditions associated with the PCRV position. Consider any concerns you may have about these conditions and how you plan to adapt to your environment if you serve in the position.

2) Read our country information page

These pages contain important information about preparing to volunteer — including health, safety and security, and diversity and inclusion topics. Read through this information to gain a better understanding of what you might experience while serving in that country. Be prepared to discuss expectations with your interviewer.

3) Understand the Core Expectations for Peace Corps Volunteers

Several of the interview questions are designed to assess your ability to meet these core expectations. Think about how you have demonstrated these capabilities in the past, or imagine how you might be called upon to meet these expectations during your Peace Corps Response Volunteer assignment. Be ready to give examples of your previous successes or lessons learned.

4) Come on time and check your connection

All interviews are conducted virtually. Plan to find a quiet location with minimal distractions in the background and stable internet access. It’s best to join the virtual meeting room at least 5 to 10 minutes early so you can test your connection and resolve any technology hiccups.

5) Prepare your own questions
