Working for a Cleaner Senegal

Peace Corps Senegal Volunteers have been working for years towards cleaning this country through waste-removal projects.

Now, for the first time, we’ve partnered with local government agencies to train local artisans and technical students from all over Senegal to build and maintain a series of machines that can recycle plastics.

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Franco is a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan. He joined Peace Corps to explore another culture with the hopes of doing some good along the way. Franco served two years in southern Senegal as a health volunteer, and now lives and works in Dakar as Peace Corps Senegal's Media Coordinator.
