From the very first day of his service, volunteer Franco was infatuated with the work ethic of the women in his rural village.  Whether it's sweeping, doing laundry, collecting firewood or taking care of the kids, he soon realized that women are the backbone of many rural families.

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Franco is a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan. He joined Peace Corps to explore another culture with the hopes of doing some good along the way. Franco served two years in southern Senegal as a health volunteer, and now lives and works in Dakar as Peace Corps Senegal's Media Coordinator.
