Marking Period in Rwanda Schools

At the end of each term, all Rwandan schools have a marking period.

This is a time for teachers to grade exams and discuss trends. In addition to learning about how to support students better in English curriculum goals, my counterparts and I discuss ways to improve overall education. After looking at the exams from this year, we have decided to push writing conventions in the coming year. We’ll work on capitalization, punctuation, and spelling. In developing a goal that reaches beyond the English curriculum, we are boosting student achievement in Kinyarwanda and French, furthering our impact.
