Host a virtual information session/webinar

Create a virtual information session/webinar that can accommodate 1000 participants. You can do this by requesting your agency to provide a platform such as Zoom, Adobe Connect, WebEx, or YouTube Live. We have found that these sessions work best when agencies use their preferred platforms because you will be more comfortable conducting the virtual presentation using familiar technology. a. If you cannot accommodate 1000 people, please let us know ahead of time. We will inform the participants that the webinar is first come, first served. We would like to track attendees so, if you are able to use Eventbrite or another mechanism to track attendance that would be helpful.

  • Please provide a recording of the video after the webinar. If you are unable to record, or chose not to, please provide a POC for questions or more information.
  • Please remember to make the broadcasts accessible. It is helpful to remind participants who need accommodations to indicate so at registration so that you can make arrangements for interpreters, CART services, closed captioning, etc. If you have questions, the Peace Corps’ Office of Civil Rights is available to assist.

Once you have identified your platform, we recommend the following panelists for the webinar:

  • An HR specialist who can explain the hiring process to the audience.
  • Hiring managers and subject matter experts with knowledge of open positions.
  • An ASL interpreter and/or a transcript service.
  • Peace Corps alumni who work at your agency. This will be your biggest selling point as these individuals are in the best position to talk to returning Peace Corps volunteers about why they should consider a career in Federal Service. They are your best ambassadors!

  • Recruiters who are available to do 1:1 video/chats

Provide a brief introduction about your agency and the highlighted jobs, and allow recruiters to host break-out rooms to do 1:1 interviews with RPCVs. We suggest providing a general email that RPCVs can submit their resumes during or after the session.
