Duties

CHAI’s Health Workforce Global Team seeks a Volunteer, Ethiopia Analytics to support data collection, synthesis, and other key analytics work to inform scaling up of critical medical services Ethiopia.

In Ethiopia, CHAI is supporting the Federal Ministry of Health to develop national quality scale-up plans for four major specialty areas (e.g., Pediatrics, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, etc.) across a number of teaching hospitals. The Federal Ministry of Health and CHAI aim to develop a comprehensive, costed operational plan that will be used to mobilize domestic and international funds to support quality scale-up of training and services. The scope for each specialty area includes specialist physicians and mid-level providers such as nurses, technicians and other providers. Assessments for medical residency programs have concluded. Subsequent steps to synthesize data and develop intervention options through analytical modeling and qualitative program design and costing are planned. Assessments of mid-level provider programs are set to commence in September and similar tools for data collection, cleaning, synthesis and intervention planning and costing will also be needed.

This role requires a combination of strong communication, analytical, project management, and staff management skills in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years work experience, inclusive of internships
Exceptional analytical and Excel skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to communicate effectively with people of varied professional, cultural, and educational backgrounds
Ability to work independently and effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Very high attention to detail
Ability to work with teams across time zones and locations
Ability to develop, manage and maintain work plans with staff located in various geographies
Ability to work with humility and achieve results
High levels of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet applications
