CCSEM programs and services are provided in authentically Catholic environments consistent with Church teachings and values.


The Volunteer Coordinator will be creating a volunteer program focusing on helping low-income and homebound seniors age in place with dignity. This is a great opportunity for a budding volunteer coordinator or program manager. 

As an AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) member at Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan, you will help create the volunteer aspect of the Senior Outreach Program that will allow us to serve a greater number of our area seniors in quantifiable and meaningful ways. The creation of the volunteer management and recruitment portion of the program will also help engage the metro Detroit community in serving those most in need. The main function of the position will be creating and implementing an online system to help connect volunteers to clients in need and recruiting volunteers through a variety of avenues. The VISTA will also create and execute service opportunities like food/gift card drives, major food distribution events, and single day community action events like spring and fall cleanups at the homes of our clients in coordination with local parishes in the AOD.

This is a contract, UNPAID, volunteer position. Position start date would be 7/6/21 and ending on 7/5/22.


Desired level of education:
Some college.

Skills & Abilities:
Communications, Community Organization, Computers/Technology, Fundraising/Grant Writing, Public Speaking, Recruitment, Writing/Editing, General Skills, Non-Profit Management, Social Services, Experience with older populations.
