About the organization

The American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC) is a Washington, DC based nonprofit organization that provides leadership and influences public policy on American Indian higher education issues through advocacy, research, and program initiatives. It promotes and strengthens Indigenous languages, cultures, communities, land and natural resource stewardship, food sovereignty, and tribal nation building; and through its unique position, serves member institutions and emerging Tribal Colleges and Universities.

Duties

VISTA LEADERS MUST BE FORMER VISTA, AMERICORPS, or PEACE CORPS volunteers. The VISTA Leader will assist in the development and implementation of support and a technical assistance systems for VISTA site supervisors and their VISTA members. Duties also include interacting with VISTA sites across the U.S. to assist in designing training and professional development opportunities, program planning, and program evaluation and reporting. Some travel is required.

Qualifications

VISTA LEADERS MUST BE FORMER VISTA, AMERICORPS, or PEACE CORPS volunteers. Bachelors degree required.

Salary

Living stipend based on locale; set at poverty level (similar approach as Peace Corps)
