About the organization

The City of Fairbanks houses the local AmeriCorps VISTA Program where members fight poverty in beautiful Fairbanks, Alaska! VISTA members perform capacity building work at various agencies as the VISTA Leader supports, raises awareness, and recruits new members for the program.

Duties

The VISTA Leader will have the opportunity to support 14 full-year VISTAs and 12 Summer Associates serving at organizations throughout the Fairbanks North Star Borough. The VISTA Leader will work with the program sponsor and state office to support current VISTA projects and members, collect and compile monthly reports and timesheets, recruit new members and projects, and promote program activities and accomplishments. The VISTA Leader will be responsible for increasing each VISTA project’s effectiveness and sustainability through supporting, mentoring, troubleshooting, mediating and creating and sharing resources when necessary for and with all VISTA members.

Qualifications

Must have successfully completed at least one traditional term of Peace Corps service or at least one year of VISTA service, or one full term of full-time service (serving 1,700 hours or more) with either AmeriCorps State and National or AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC).

Salary

$1,333/month
