Vice President of Development
Global Health Corps
About the organization
Global Health Corps (GHC) was founded on the belief that leadership is the greatest lever for change in global health. Our 13-month fellowship program places young professionals in high impact roles on the front lines of global health. United by the belief that health is a human right, we train our leaders to become more effective while also strengthening their ability to work together across borders and boundaries of all kinds to drive systemic change. Since 2009, we’ve been building a diverse community of health equity leaders –1000+ strong and counting – from 48 nationalities and currently working across Malawi, Zambia, Uganda, Rwanda and the US.
At the onset of a new 3-year strategic plan, GHC seeks a Vice President of Development to set and lead a comprehensive fundraising effort. In close partnership with a highly engaged CEO, this position will build upon our strong financial footing and base of individual and institutional funders – including Skoll Foundation, Bloomberg Philanthropies, Rippleworks Foundation, and MacKenzie Scott – to secure the support needed to grow our fellowship model and amplify our impact. Specific responsibilities include:
- Create a multi-year fundraising plan intended to 1) raise $5M in FY22 and cumulatively raise $18-20M across FY23-FY25, 2) steward and increase support from existing supporters, and 3) identify and pursue new supporters that are aligned with GHC’s values and mission.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of foundation, corporate, and individual funders, leveraging the CEO and board members in donor stewardship and retention. Take ownership of developing donor-specific strategies, meeting preparation and timely follow-up.
- As a member of the senior management team, contribute to guiding overall organizational strategic direction, decision-making, prioritization, and goals.
- Manage and support the professional development of a Development Manager, Development Associate, and Grants Manager.
